McCoco's Caribbean Restaurant

First time trying McCoco's today. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. We ordered a jibirito with rice and gondolas and the pepper steak with white rice and beans. The food was delicious with very large portions for only $8.99. Out waitress was great and we had a wonderful experience. I would definitely come back again.

1. We had reservations for 7 pm for a birthday party of 10 & did not receive our food order until 9:45pm- their reason being there was a "party in the back" they also had to serve. We didn't leave the restaurant until 10pm. There were two tables that came in after us that were served & left before we received our food. We waited so long most of us started discussing leaving. 2. We received shots for our wait instead of a percentage off of the bill. Our bill was over $440. Management never approached our table apologizing for the wait or looking to make amends. We didn't even know who the manager was/is. 3. We were told we'd receive $10 gift cards per person if everyone did a Google review & showed them our review but once one person did it, it was changed to everyone had to do a review for another person to receive a $50 gift card. It's a pretty small restaurant, ambiance was festive, colorful, energetic vibes, I would absolutely not recommend for any large parties for celebrations as I witnessed that they took on more than they could handle. I ordered the fried fish, it was fried too hard other than that food was 3/5. Waiting that long was absolutely ridiculous. We discussed among ourselves and most of us would never return. A very disappointing experience for a special reserved event.
